TheRocketPad

UPDATED MAY 10, 2008

This is the new format for TheRocketPad and I will attempt to keep it smaller and  easier to update and control. The large pages of graphics use up way to much space and broadband and the more pictures you put on the more problems you have controlling the site.

Thanks to Mike Key ('61) for the beautiful photo of the space shuttle Endeavour. As a retired engineer with the space program, it must make Mike's chest  swell with pride when he looks at this beautiful piece of  engineering.

Hey Bill,
The shots of the band trip to Chicago were great.  Don Adcock will get a real laugh out of them.  I see him on a regular basis.  We exchange jazz CD's and I laugh at his eemongly endless supply of jokes.  His health is a bit frail due to a serious hear problem several years ag obut he still enjoys going out to the local jazz spots and talking about music with everyone.  Yours truly is still playing jazz and enjoying it more thqan ever.  If you'll go to www.jazzbeauswings.com you'll get a picture of the band I currently play with and a sampling of five or six tunes we use for a demo tape.  Again, thanks for the pix and keep swinging ( not literally, it's a musical term), dig it? LOL.....Chuck

This is the excerpt of Ann Lenox Gore Spencer's (Class of RHS '61) diary when she goes to John Hopkins evry two weeks to have cancer treatments. Annie has all the thoghts and prayer with her as she is beating cancer!

May 6 and 7

This was a two-day visit this time....blood work and CAT scan on Tuesday, doctor discussion and treatment on Wednesday. My scan was good. I'm still considered "CR", complete responder, no disease showing at all. I'm a bit concerned that my CA125 is bouncing around a bit, but it does not seem to bother Dr. Armstrong.

We spent Wednesday evening with Aunt Sarah and she's about the same. It's as if she's plateaued for now, but I don't see how she can remain alone much longer.

How about that North Carolina Democratic primary. I was telling Deb Armstrong and Connie how proud I was with our state. Rhett and I voted before we left.

The tornadoes came close last night, but Rhett and I were so tired we slept right through things. Apparently it was really bad out Spence's way, but his property was unscathed.

All of you have Happy Mother's Day celebrations and we hope to see you in the near future.

Love,

Ann and Rhett
